SMART Ride 6 Notes

I thought everybody might enjoy some selected notes that I received about SMART Ride 6....happy reading....David

I would like to again express my delite and honor to have been invited to speak at this event. What wonderful event overall and a lovely evening. Hope eveyone survived the last leg from Marathon to Key West without harm.
Much love and thanks to each of you!

I rode all 165 miles for my wifes cousin Marshall, who I never got to meet. He was taken from us too soon by AIDS in 1986. I rode for him and it would take more than wind and rain to stop me.
I will be back next year. Christian # 287

Well, I truly thank you for allowing me to participate as a crew
member of this event. It was a bizarre couple of days for me, and
certainly for the other crew members, and definitely a weekend that
the riders will not forget. As I expected, I was completely
overwhelmed by the dedication and just plain hard work that everyone
put into this event. And I left feeling like there is so much more
that I want to do to make it work next time. Long story short, I
worked my ass off, and plan on doing it again! Scott Erbele #663

I meant to email you yesterday to compliment you on the organization of the ride. I had called you that morning to volunteer a little truck and you directed me to Baby's Coffee. I headed on down there and was impressed with the support visible on the highway and especially at Baby's. Plenty of calm, organized, peppy volunteers heaping encouragment on the riders. The bike mechanics were well organized and hopefully the SAGs worked out fine. I brought one rider and six bikes down to Bayview Park. I just can't tell you how impressed I was with the orginization of the event. Baby's Coffee was phenomenal in their support. All of their little goodies that are normally $3-7 were being offered free to the riders! I knew that Gary supported many fundraisers, but was really impressed with his generosity. Great job raising $$ for the cause. Suzanne Dowling

Thank you for a life changing experience! I have been blessed by the SMART Ride experience and am looking forward to next year. This was my first Smart Ride. (actually my first ride ever)This week marks the 22nd year of my HIV diagnosis. After arriving in Hawks Cay (my first century) I decided that I am no longer living with HIV, HIV lives with me. You and the entire SMART Ride organization, crew and supportors ARE THE GREATEST! THANK YOU!!! Ed Johnson Rider 128

Thanks for everything! You motivated me to join the ride when we first meet at the info meeting in September and you were not exaggerating when you told me about the great experience to be on the ride. It was beyond my expectations and something happened to me! It was great - not only the ride itself, but the entire action and engagement of everybody in relation to the cause. Plus it was amazing to see how well organized everything was. I am so happy that I was able to take part in this luxurious weekend and I am looking forward to the next smart ride! Thanks a lot ! Henning

Congratulations on an outstanding Smart Ride!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing event. It was filled with all kinds of challenges, surprises, triumphs and successes. I was awed by the organization of the event and how smooth everything seemed to run. I was truly inspired by the revamping of the closing ceremonies and how impactful (and warm) the ending was. I was touched by the support that everyone showed the riders and I thank you all for that from the bottom of my heart!!!!! Looking forward to seeing you all at the end of the month. I ordered better weather….lol Kathleen Cannon

Good morning Crici!! Like you, I want to thank you and David for doing such a wonderful job! As I wrote on the poster at Morningside on Thursday, this was my first year as a participant and I felt I HAD to be a part of the wonderful energy this whole event sparks! What you and this event does for our community is nothing short of phenomenal. You can be sure I will be back for SMART Ride 7! Be well!! Warmest regards Kenny Baer Crew 609

It was our pleasure. Spirits were high, despite the conditions. I want to commmend everyone on a very well organized event. The support system was flawless throughout the ride and we, the riders, were comforted in knowing that we had the support and encouragement of the entire crew. This was a massive project and undertaking that could have only be accomplished with the devotion and dedication of people who really care. Thank you very much for the experience and I look forward to doing it again in 2011. Milard Abraham (Rider #379).

I just wanted to say thank you to you. This was my first year riding and it was AMAZING! Every person that I came into contact with (crew, support, and riders) was so nice. There was never a moment where I did not feel safe and taken care of. Every pit stop crew was accommodating and every motorcycle crew member was so encouraging. I am not going to lie, I was very nervous about this bike ride because of the distance, but with the help and support of the crew it went by very easily. This experience has changed me and I feel extremely blessed to have been apart of it. I cant wait to ride again next year. I would like help out as well next year if that is possible. Please let me know if you will need any volunteers. This is a great thing that you and Glen have put together and I am proud to have been apart of this. Kind Regards, Stephanie Vigliotti
