Hard to believe it is September and less than 3 months until SMART Ride 7. Ride Committee is in full gear planning, Rider Reps are making their calls, and Crews are beginning to form. It is all very exciting to see things coming together. Everywhere I travel, I hear the enthusiasm about getting ready for SMART Ride and listen to the stories.
It is the individual stories that ties us all together as we fundraise, train and actually ride from Miami to Key West. Think about all the reasons of why people ride. Some stories are sad, some funny but all are inspirational. Over the years we have collected hundreds of stories of why people ride or crew. It is a novel that is rich with history and embedded with personal emotion.
So as we get closer to November, what is your story? The reason of why you are willing to get on that bike and ride 165 miles? The purpose for why you are willing to work long, hot hours to support riders? Whether new or returning, this is about the time you ask yourself do I really want to do this event.....Listen to your story and you will find your answer!

Endurance, Perseverance, Determination, Stamina, Dedication, Generosity, Humility and Soul are the ingredients that make for an exceptional Smart Ride team mate. These are the traits of Smart Ride 7 Rider Rep, Phil Anderton.
Phil, a Key West resident, has participated in the Smart Ride for the past 4 years. Not only does Phil participate as a rider and fundraiser he is also member of the Smart Ride Planning Committee. Phils involvement does not end there.
